Second dimension gels without support films are large sized and though difficult to handle. So they normally stay inside their cassettes even in the fluoro-imager. This decreases the sensitivity of the visualization procedure. See figures below.

All gel-binding films available on the market show strong auto-fluorescence in the green, the blue channel and the short-wave section. Therefor they cannot be used for nearly all fluorescence techniques such as DIGE a.s.o.
All 2DGels from ETC are available polymerized on non-fluorescent gel-support FixAcryl-films (“NF).
All fluorescent visualization techniques can be applied.

Important:
Because our NF-films do not stay alcoholic liquids with more than 25% and no hot staining methods, all our proteomic gels are available also on normal film support.
